The via ferrata is one of the leading activities in the Annecy region.
The activity consists of following a route laid out on a cliff. This route is secured by the presence of cable and ladders, allowing us to evolve in complete safety.
These routes are intended to be fun with varied passages and facilities such as rope bridges, footbridges, ladders facing the void or other suspended beams.
The courses offered take place in remarkable sites with a “mountain” atmosphere. The via ferrata of La Sambuy is nestled in the heart of an eponymous mineral valley, preserved and which gives access to a splendid view of Lake Annecy. The Aravis via ferrata only dominates the pass of the same name in a magnificent setting that is both mountainous and pastoral.
Beyond the sporting aspect of the activity where it is necessary to evolve with the strength of the arms and the legs on more or less vertical courses, the contemplative aspect is also marked. Indeed, you will not remain insensitive to the beauty of the place and the atmosphere that reigns there. The forms and the contact of the rock, the flora and the alpine fauna, without forgetting the magnificent points of view which will be offered to you.

Frequently asked questions
Not all of the difficult passages can be avoided. However, the course is equipped with escape routes which allow for different options of passage. Our guides will be ever present to walk you through the various obstacles and help you gain confidence as you learn to navigate the course in total security. The take home will be an experience full of thrills and excitement.
Groupe numbers will vary depending on the route chosen to insure the greatest quality and safety. There will be five persons maximum per guide for the via ferrata in the Aravis and 8 persons maximum for the Sambuy outing. In the event of a large group of friends and/or family we will provide the number of guides necessary to insure safety.
Our via ferrata courses are situated in a magnificent mountain environment. The temperatures can often be as much as 15 degrees lower than temperatures at the same time down at the lake. In addition, since the temperature can change very quickly it is advised to carry some extra warm clothes in your pack: polar fleece jumper or sweatshirt, outer shell or windbreaker, and trousers.
We will provide the equipment for the activity: a harness, which are specially equipped for the via ferrata, along with a helmet. You should however bring with you: a good pair of hiking shoes or trail running shoes with good tread, a backpack, a bottle of water with some snacks.
To get to the via ferrata at the Sambuy meeting point, you can catch the bus from Annecy that will take you to Faverges via the Lhisa number 51 bus line. Then you can take the Sources du lac d’Annecy shuttle to get to the meeting point.
The Aravis via ferrata is not accessible by bus.
